Aetiology:
It is related to autoimmune reaction and emotional stimulation.
In TCM, It is related to the following factors: a constitution with insufficient yin, deficiency of kidney yin, less of astringing liver yin, emotional depress, lack of dispersing liver Qi, Qi stagnated and transformed to fire, deficiency of liver and kidney, burn the fluid to phlegm, the meridians blocked, staged on the neck becoming goiter.
Treatment:
In the clinical practice, we found some herbs with the functions of reducing the thyroid secretion or interfering with the synthesis of thyroid and regulating immunity.
According to the differentiation we make our own formula with the related herbs to enrich Qi, nourish yin, resolve phlegm, remove stasis, disperse stagnation. With the formula and acupuncture we treat patients and have good results that lower the elevated T3, T4 levels and the BMR rate (heart rate, pulse pressure deviation, frequency of respiration), improve the psychic and nervous symptoms, reduce the bulged eyes and gradually cure the disease. In short course of the disease, shorter treatment will be needed and the effect shows more rapidly.
